A Project Called Love introduce themselves with Smack Dab In The Middle, a stunning three-track debut release that brings together grunge, reggae, punk, alternative rock, and melodic pop.
Led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jay Hope, with drums performed by Dennis, the project reflects years of musical influences gathered across different scenes and approaches. Recorded in Cologne with producer Julian Schneid, the release starts from a simple guitar, bass, and drums foundation before expanding outward with cello, trumpet, saxophone, organ, piano, percussion, and touches of DJ scratching.

Each track carefully crafted for maximum impact and written with an honesty and openness that gives each track an authenticity as Jay uses his own life experiences to paint a very vivid picture with his songwriting.
The record doesn't feel like a random collection of songs but a carefully curated record, the tracks perfectly compliment each other stylistically and the passion that comes from the self reflection adds depth to the vocal performance.
