​Alex Wellkers' album 'reach the stars' is out right now and it is definitely one you need to check out. It's not your standard, straightforward rock record by any stretch of the imagination. Each track is carefully crafted and composed story telling at the forefront. Musically there is plenty of instrumental elements from harps to guitars and everything in between, giving this record an unusual mix of grit and elegance. 

Shifting from heavy feeling tracks to more stripped back and melancholy songs, Alex really keeps you on your toes with this album. Alex's storytelling and songwriting is spot on and matched with his emotional vocals, especially in tracks like 'desert island', the album is really striking.

Having already released several singles from the record you may well have already heard a snapshot of what is an exceptional piece of writing. A body of work that showcases so many different sides to this singer and composer from Zurich, Switzerland. The language mix takes you by surprise half way through, switching from English to German in 'alles nicht so schlimm' (everything isn't so bad) then the next track is French 'tu es ici' (you are here), then switching it up again to a punkish vocal in 'she will say', again showing just how versatile an artist Alex is.
