All Points East 2026: What Makes a Twenty One Pilots Show So Special?
From teleportation tricks to drum islands, why the duo remains the ultimate live spectacle ahead of All Points East.

Twenty One Pilots return to the UK to headline All Points East on 30th August, and if you've seen them before, you'll know they put on an incredible show. But if you haven't, what actually makes one of their shows so special?
The last time they played the UK was last year during their Clancy World Tour, quite possibly their most ambitious show to date. Teleportation, fan videos, a B-stage, Josh's drum solo, and even closing the show in the middle of the pit, alongside some seriously impressive production!
I was lucky enough to grab tickets with friends, and it ended up being a really special night for all of us.
Things kicked off during ‘Car Radio’, when Tyler seemingly teleported from the stage to the top of the arena. Even knowing how the trick worked, seeing it happen in person was still pretty crazy.
One of my favourite parts of the show was actually how much the fans were involved. Before every show, the band spent a couple of hours filming people queuing outside the venue, asking about their outfits, what the band means to them, and getting them to sing part of ‘The Judge’. Those clips were then used during the intro to the song, meaning every audience got a slightly different version. How cool!?
The B-stage was another great part of the show, and even getting there became part of the performance. During ‘Routines In The Night’, Tyler made his way through the crowd to reach it, rather than simply disappearing backstage and having downtime.
Josh also had a cool moment during ‘Paladin Strait’, giving us a taste of his vocals, before later taking on ‘Drum Island’ – a small drum kit held above the crowd at the barrier while he performed a solo.
And then, of course, there's ‘Trees’.
For the finale, Tyler and Josh make their way into the crowd and perform from two platforms in the middle of the pit. It's one of those moments that looks impressive on video, but is even better when you're actually there.
Now they're coming back to London, and this time they've got even more time to play with.

All Points East have announced their set times, and Twenty One Pilots are getting a two hour and 15 minute headline set! significantly longer than the usual 90-minute festival slot and much closer to the length of their Breach tour shows from the end of last year.
That gives us plenty of time for the usual Twenty One Pilots chaos, some deeper cuts, and hopefully a few songs we don't normally get at festivals.
And if the Clancy tour and their recent festival shows are anything to go by, there are definitely going to be some surprises too. At Colours of Ostrava a few weeks ago, Tyler even ended up riding a Ferris wheel during ‘Ride’. I can't wait to see what they come up with for a venue as large as Victoria Park!
That's probably the best way to describe a Twenty One Pilots show - you never quite know what you're going to get. You can know the songs, the setlist and all the big moments, but seeing it happen in person is completely different. It's a massive production, but there's still a lot of interaction with the fans, and that's what makes their shows so special and enjoyable.
So, with All Points East just around the corner, I'm very excited to see what they've got planned.
