Andy Smythe
Emergency
Andy Smythe has released a new single titled Emergency, out now. The track marks the first release from his upcoming album Quiet Revolution, due to arrive in March next year.
Written and recorded in Lewisham, Emergency sits firmly in a songwriter led space. Andy has remained focussed on the structure and melody over studio effects. The backbone of the track is based around electric guitars with layered vocals adding warmth and depth to the overall sound. There is a familiarity to Andy's songwriting without feeling like it is fixed on one style or era.

Smythe handles most of the instrumentation himself, playing guitar, piano, bass and organ on the recording. Live band member Paul Challenger joined him to contribute his lead guitar skills. The result is a cracking piece of music.
Shindig Magazine previously described Smythe as a songwriter with a distinctive voice and something to say, and Emergency continues in that direction, avoiding obvious hooks, instead opting for steady development allowing the song to unfold at its own pace.
Emergency sets the tone for Quiet Revolution, an album that builds on Smythe’s reputation for thoughtful, carefully arranged material. He will be touring the UK from March to April 2026 in support of the release, with a confirmed date at Blackheath Concert Halls on July 10th, 2026.
