Exploring the raw talent and resonant stories of the independent music scene.
Today we are shining a light on three phenomenal new discoveries that completely throw out clinical, over-polished production in favor of pure sonic force: Voodoo Wiseguys, Irrenoid, and Michael Landgarten and The Converts.
Voodoo Wiseguys, a curated, independent artist-first collaboration series, unleashes today, June 26th, a new rock re-release, ‘Someday You’ll Know’. The single is a blues-driven hard rock ballad, written and recorded by guitar legend George Lynch (Dokken) and powerhouse vocalist Joe Retta with acclaimed bassist Bjorn Englen on four strings. Unbound by corporate label politics, the single is released via indie boutique label Legendary-Artists.
Voodoo Wiseguys treats each single like a singular, free standing event. ‘Someday You’ll Know’ is a completely different side of these rock gods, soul-stirringly slow-burning and fantastic, cool and rebellious. It captures the raw, mystical chemistry of the artists' jam session.

Michael Landgarten and The Converts, an alternative country band from Maine, have released their fantastic debut, The Long Highway. The entire record was recorded live in a barn studio in York, Maine. The songs were recorded in a raw, live setting with a lot of space to really capture the live interaction between the band members.
Their debut full-length album, The Long Highway, combines heartland rock, country soul, and folk philosophy into an alternative country style. According to the band they would describe the title track as a song of extreme mortality and fate awareness. A very grounding song, timeless, by a longtime group of musical friends from New England.
