Exploring the raw talent and resonant stories of the independent music scene.
With our regular spotlight articles, we love to highlight a massive variety of independent acts from across the musical spectrum. Today we are diving into three incredible projects that swap rigid, over-polished production for pure, raw human energy: Hot Property, Violent Convictions, and Dániel Szebényi.
London based rockers Hot Property have just released a brand new single 'Get Yourself In The Groove'. They take the classic sound of 70’s rock and give it a modern twist in their unique blend of rock and pop that embodies everything about a good time.
The new single is a huge rock ‘n’ roll party that is full of grit and is the perfect epitaph for letting go of your troubles in a world that is ever more demanding for us to be ‘perfect’. In an age where everyone is trying to put on the perfect image and appear to have their lives ‘together’ the single is a refreshing return to the roots of rock ‘n’ roll urging you to stop over thinking things and to let your hair down and have a dance.

Violent Convictions, a metallic hardcore band based in Charleston, WV have released their latest single, “The Cure” off of their forthcoming debut full length, By My Hand. Violent Convictions formed in 2021 following the collapse of CHUD and since have gained a devoted fanbase along the East Coast. The dedicated following have been awaiting a release, and it seems the West Virginian four-piece have been hard at work at crafting a metalcore sound that sees the band blend unrelenting and often brutal elements of the genres with ferocious and unapologetic lyrics that will undoubtedly appeal to fans of the hardest hitting out there.
“The Cure” is a furious, enraged dose of anger that looks to provide a healthy outlet to the societal frustration that currently cannot be expressed within the bounds of law, and embodies the entire Violent Convictions metallic hardcore project. You shouldn’t miss it.

Award-winning musician and former godfater. member Dániel Szebényi showcases his staggering musical presence with the heavy progressive blues-rock anthem, "Ballad of the Bastard." Moving gracefully across the borderlands of pop, rock, blues, and soul, the track was captured completely live off the floor on a vintage 48-track analog console with zero edits or backing tracks.
Blending jazz, funk, and rock sensibilities, Szebényi’s "modern analog revolution" functions as a soul-tearing freight train that still manages to break your heart. Backed by an esteemed resume collaborating with international legends like Henrik Freischlader and Mohini Dey, he delivers a timeless, emotionally charged performance rooted in sheer honesty and cinematic depth.
