Welcome to another of our regular spotlight articles, where we highlight a huge variety of artists from across every imaginable genre for you to discover. Today we shine the spotlight on three rising stars of the independent music world: Riverwoods, Eileen Carey, and Dopameen.
First in the up is Riverwoods, a project that defines the "global village" of modern music. The brainchild of Swedish songwriter Jimmy Granström, (we also featured Jimmy's projects yesterday so be sure to check that out here), Riverwoods operates as a revolving door for high-level international collaboration, bridging the gap between Swedish P4 regional stations and indie radio across the globe.
Granström has mastered the art of the slow-burn hit; his work with Project Earthbridge achieved the rare feat of staying in rotation on Portland’s PRP 99.1FM for over a year. "Freeway To Freedom," is a high octane rock anthem that is full of energy. The song tackles the universally human itch to escape the mundane, with Granström delivering poignant lines like: “I’m dying for a remedy, for boredom and conformity / The shackles of society, this life will be the death of me.”
It’s a track designed for the restless, blending a rebellious edge with the polished songwriting that recently earned him a spot on SiriusXM’s Nordic Rox, co-hosted by Roxette’s Per Gessle.

The next feature is an artist who has become a beacon of positivity in the independent music scene. Eileen Carey is an award-winning country-pop powerhouse known for her West Coast Pop-Country sound. A bright, accessible blend of Nashville storytelling and California sunshine that Eileen really excels at.
Her latest single, "This Is Where," is a masterclass in emotional maturity. Reframing the typical breakup narrative, the song explores how two people can outgrow one another while still carrying the lessons and love forward. It’s an uplifting anthem that proves the end of one story is often just the beginning of who we are becoming.

Switching things up is Dopameen, a refreshing pop/indie artist whose name perfectly encapsulates the chemical reaction her music aims to trigger. Unbound by genre, Dopameen is rapidly becoming a favorite for those who crave uniqueness paired with mass appeal, supported by a world-class team of platinum award-winning producers.
Her single "Again", is an emotional heavy hitter that takes on the theme of being apart from someone, longing, and not giving up on the hope of a reunion. By blending open and honest lyrics with a high-energy, catchy hook, Dopameen has managed to make a track feels both danceable and deeply relatable. Backed by a vibrant music video, this track is just the opening salvo for an artist who is perfectly in tune with today’s pop trends. Keep an eye out for her upcoming album, which promises to be a standout release for 2026. Check out Again here.
