Our regular spotlight articles cover a range of independent artists across various genres. In this edition, we look at new tracks and releases from T.R.A.T.S, Ted Morris, and Samuel Blaney.
T.R.A.T.S
T.R.A.T.S describe their sound as “indie sleaze meets punk” and are making their recording debut with a direct, high-energy approach that is as intense as it is to play and to listen to, drawing from the post-punk intensity as well as the heavy guitar rock of the last few decades.
The band’s first recording is the single ‘FORCE FEED’ a song written about how modern media can create a rigid narrative that is fed to the masses via social media and the news. The song is a masterclass in building the tension before kick-starting into a high-energy finale, with heavy riffs and harsh vocals.

Ted Morris
Flutist-turned-rocker Ted Morris returns with his project Old Lines, New Forces. Here Ted reworks old material (written over several decades) and, in combination with his classical background, creates a rock album with guitar-focused arrangements, rich keyboard layers and harmonic vocals within a classic and progressive rock framework.
The new single, “Love Doesn’t Wait,” brings together the styles of Neo-Classical Rock and Metal in a way that only a true master of his craft can do. The track showcases a distinct reference to the Baroque composer Arcangelo Corelli, as Morris weaves together intricate guitar passages with driving rhythms and rich, layered synth textures in a truly emotional tale of love and heartache.
