Our regular spotlight articles cover a range of independent artists across various genres. In this edition, we look at new tracks and releases from A revelation!, Lovestruck, and Tiny.
Kory Quinn is shining the spotlight on some pretty hardcore themes of labour, industrial dependence, and systemic inequality in his songs with messages that cannot be ignored. His hard hitting songs of modern working class are written within the framework of traditional roots story telling, but with a sharp rock edge and heavy social commentary to go with high energy arrangements.
The single “OxyContin Blues” is the lead track for the upcoming album Safer In The Lee which is set for a December release. Written in a bluesy rock style, the song looks at the American opioid crisis and how the crisis was enabled by corporate negligence and how it has affected communities of all kinds.
