Chicago band Attack the Sound have dropped a new single 'Don't String Me Along', and it continues a run of material that leans on groove and clarity. Its a song that comes in string, with the infectious beat kicking in from the first moment and keeps it going, adding layer upon layer of sound building to a rich sound that compliments the silky smooth vocals.

There’s some funky guitar work running through the song, and the bass does a lot of work under the radar and once you clock what it’s doing, it’s hard not to lock into it. Even if you’re not consciously listening for it, it pulls you along. Subconsciously or not, it definitely gets you moving, there isn’t much point fighting it, the groove is going to get you in the end, so you may as well let it happen.

Lyrically, the song deals with emotional burnout and the decision to stop giving more than you’re getting back, something that I am sure most people experience at some point.  Despite the subject, the song isn't all doom and gloom in fact it is the total opposite, the upbeat feel of the track stops it from getting heavy. 

Attack the Sound come across as a band that think about how their songs will work when played live and this . The parts fit together cleanly and don’t compete for space. This release feels like part of a gives a clear sense of where they’re at right now, and that place is in the here and now, creating timeless tunes like 'Don't String Me Along'.
