BRAISON CYRUS
Know This

Picture
Braison Cyrus has released a brand-new single, Know This, and it might just be his most personal work to date. The moment is made even more poignant by the fact that it is the first time he’s recorded alongside his sister, Miley, whose unmistakable voice cuts in with a playful, challenging tone. It’s not a collaboration anyone expected, yet when you hear it, it feels completely natural.

The track itself was written with Nashville based artist Jordan Lindley and according to Braison, it came together quickly. The two finished the bones of the song in under an hour at his home studio with Miley’s vocal coming in almost like a final brushstroke, adding an edge that pushes the song beyond a simple folk ballad after co-producer Ryan Rasmussen suggested it needed a female voice to balance the story.

'Know This' leans into rich, warm organic instrumentation with a strong folk backbone running right through it, gentle acoustic layers and harmonies that recall the traditions of the South where the Cyrus family grew up bring the song to life. But there’s also something new here, Braison sounds more assured, more willing to take risks. His earlier album Javelina showed his psychedelic folk leanings, while this track feels stripped down, closer to the bone, yet no less ambitious.

The single follows his summer releases 'From Now On' and 'Here in the Middle', serving as a clear stepping stone toward his upcoming album which is due in spring of 2026. With a handful of collaborators lined up and a focus on storytelling, the record is already shaping up to be a bold statement. For Braison, Know This feels less like a side project and more like a declaration that he’s ready to take his place in the spotlight.
