Running from 3pm to 8pm, DAY FEVER offers a proper night out that doesn’t wreck your weekend, the perfect balance! There’s no dress code, no pressure, and the hangover is optional, just wall-to-wall feel-good tunes and an open invitation to dance like nobody’s watching.
"If you look back at the first Sheffield one to what we are now, the evolution of it is amazing," says founder Vicky McClure. "It was still the same people that wanted the same thing; they just wanted to go out in the day, so it didn't ruin their weekends and just have a dance!"
It’s not just the crowds that are growing, it’s the spirit of the entire thing. “It feels like a massive house party at your nan’s,” laughs Vicky. “No drama, no egos, just people acting daft, getting dressed up, and having the best time.”
Launched in early 2024 by actress Vicky McClure, filmmaker and broadcaster Jonny Owen, and Jon McClure, frontman of Reverend & The Makers, brother Chris McClure and Sheffield businessman James O’Hara, DAY FEVER has become a cultural sensation. From its debut in Sheffield’s City Hall Ballroom to a tour that’s sees thousands around the UK hit the dancefloor each month, the message is clear: people everywhere are craving a space to let loose, laugh, and dance, all before dinner!
DAY FEVER is also giving back to local venues. “They double bubble," explains Vicky. "We'll shut at eight, they'll do a turnaround, and then they'll bring in a nightclub at 10 pm. It has been a real game changer for the venues that we've been working with."
However, it's the local community that is the beating heart of the DAY FEVER dance floor; it is a chance for everyday folk, no matter what trials or tribulations they may be facing, to let loose and forget about life's troubles for a few hours.
"It’s stories that we hear that really sum up what it's about," Vicky says. "We’ve had people that are going through chemotherapy, we've had people that are in remission, we've got people that are grieving their lost ones ... we want to make it as accessible as possible, and all of a sudden you just feel this room filled with love."
Every city has its own flavour at DAY FEVER, but you can always expect to hear the hits. Local DJs who know their crowds tailor each soundtrack to what they will want to hear. “Manchester will go mad for Oasis ,” says Vicky. “We don't do requests but half the time we've got what people are after anyway!”
DAY FEVER remains a family affair through and through. Newest recruit and DJ Katie Owen, daughter of co-founder Jonny, brings 76,000 Instagram followers behind the scenes with her immersive live streams, and even breaks the no request rule! "People feel like they're there and more involved if you play their song request," Katie says.
With tickets selling out in hours and a growing waitlist of new towns ready to join the tour, 2026 is shaping up to be DAY FEVER's most joyful, jam-packed year yet.
As Jon puts it: “It’s like a wedding party where everyone actually wants to be there, and that’s magic.”
