Drew Mason
Always On My Mind
Drew Mason, the songwriting project of Hampshire vocalist Andy Osman, has released his new single 'Always On My Mind'. The song looks at love, loss, and the memories that linger after major changes in life. Although the title may bring other songs to mind, this version has its own purpose and doesn’t follow the usual approach of a breakup track.
Drew explains that much of the writing for his upcoming album comes from events that happened more than twenty years ago, when he lost both his brother and his mother. At the time he struggled to process any of it and wasn’t ready to turn those experiences into music. He says the anger and confusion from that period left him with no clear way to express himself, and it has taken years before the subject felt manageable.

'Always On My Mind' reflects that long gap. The song deals with the impact of family loss, but it also shows Drew reaching a point where he can look at those memories with a calmer mind. There are elements of a traditional love song in the structure, though the source of the emotion is tied more to personal history than romance. Listeners who focus on the details will hear the weight behind the writing, while others may take it at surface level.
Drew works closely with Portsmouth producer Sam Carter-Brazier, who has been involved in shaping the recordings. Drew sings and plays bass and some of the guitar parts, while Sam handles the rest of the instrumentation and arrangement. Drew mentions that he aimed for a clear, lifted band sound that supports his voice without crowding it.
Always On My Mind marks the start of a run of new material planned for next year, with more songs already in progress as Drew continues building the album.
