Dub Will Keep Us Together

Real World Records
Dub Colossus have recently released their brand new album, Dub Will Keep Us Together, an eight-track masterpiece in the genre and one that is particularly significant. It features the final recordings of Nick Page, who passed away in 2021, having worked tirelessly for decades to connect musicians from across the world through music.

The album was released at the start of March through Real World X and brings together a very wide range of collaborators who have all previously worked with Nick on other projects.

Having built a reputation for bringing musicians together, it is a tribute to his mission that so many people came together on this album. It features performances from Mimi Zenebe, Ben Somers and Paul Chivers, alongside long-time collaborators such as Tim Whelan and Hamid Mantu and more. Dub Colossus emerged in 2008, combining Ethiopian musical traditions with dub, reggae and contemporary studio production, and that is at the forefront of the overall sound of Dub Will Keep Us Together. Incredible.

Kicking off the album is Dub Conquers All, with a rooster call and atmospheric vocals, it is clear from the outset that this album is going to be a real treat for the senses. From We Stand to the high energy of Do We Have The Right, there is poignant messaging alongside celebratory songs like the slightly out there And The Gods Made Dub, which finishes the album with an experimental twist that is a real joy to hear.

For listeners familiar with the band’s previous work, the album feels like a continuation of the ideas that first brought the project together. For those discovering Dub Colossus for the first time, it offers a snapshot of a musical approach built around collaboration and shared creativity. A real gem and an album that deserves to be heard.
