E.G. Phillips
Signals in the Dark

San Francisco's E.G. Phillips has returned with his brand new EP, Signals in the Dark. It is a record that Phillips himself describes as "an album that
unfolds like a series of intercepted transmissions, intimate, imperfect and searching — drifting between late-night jazz clubs, strained conversations, and imagined places of refuge."

Starting things off with Empathy for the Night Fly, E.G. Phillips sets the tone for the rest of the EP. The solitary trumpet making way for Phillips' comfortingly gravelly vocals kick in as the jazz-infused instrumentals draw you in to the story with each silky smooth note.

The album feels like E.G. Phillips has taken the time to craft each track as a standalone piece rather than writing them to make an album. That has enable him to create many varied musical soundscapes, from the swinging sounds of The Musical I Still Adore to the guitar led Tahiti, Make Me a Latte, that closes the album.

E.G. Phillips has real knack for story telling and his style of music is the perfect platform to tell his tales of relationships, painting pictures in the mind for each individual track, from cafes to the moon. His musical style is incredibly versatile, easily switching from full on jazz to the rockier Radio Silence Mode.

Produced by Chris McGrew and Kevin Seal at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, Signals in the Dark is out and available to stream right now. So, why not give your ears a bit of change and discover the vivid storytelling of E.G. Phillips.
