Eoin Shannon
Highs & lows

Picture
Cork singer-songwriter Eoin Shannon has just released his new album, 'Highs & Lows' , and it’s one of those records that feels both immediate and patient at the same time. The thirteen track album is  deeply rooted in blues and soul, with nods to legends like Bobby Blue Bland, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra,  but Eoin still keeps the sound uniquely his own.

He brought in some friends for the ride, Tom Savage, Malte Hortsmann, Artem Litovchenko, and you can tell they weren’t just filling space. Everything feels layered but not crowded. And the guest vocals from Gaby Duboisjoli, Chanele McGuinness, Ross Harmon, add an extra layer, giving extra depth.
Even though Eoin is clearly influenced by the sounds of a bygone era, Highs & Lows isn’t about nostalgia, or trying to revive old styles. It’s contemporary, soulful, sometimes rough around the edges, sometimes delicate but it has an identity of its own. You feel the highs, you feel the lows with Shannon’s voice guiding you on a musical journey. The album’s out now across streaming platforms.

Check it out for yourself but be sure to take your time. It’s one of those records that wants you to notice it slowly, and you probably will.
