Don't Go to Work 

Having released their debut album in 2023 online via a small independent label, Fake Plastic have been building a loyal fanbase ever since. Having reached their audience via word of mouth over marketing, they have stayed true to their roots since the band's inception. 

Their follow up in 2025 with their LP, Awake in the Night, being released on vinyl again independently, Fake Plastic are without a doubt, a band who are very confident in their own identity and it really shows in their latest release, Don't Go to Work. A single that captures the band's sound perfectly.

Don't Go to Work perfectly showcases their sound, which in their own words "combines old school rock aesthetics and stadium choruses with indie credibility, experimentation and garage punk grit" Something I certainly agree with here, Don't Go to Work really does have all of that and more. Starting slowly with some great guitar work, before the drums come in to add a beat to the track which is enriched by the groove of the bass. The vocals have a raw energy that gives the song that garage punk grit that the band speak of. Great stuff!

For a band that is still relatively new, they have a sound that sounds incredibly accomplished, with a richness and vibrancy that comes from a natural creativity and obvious musical talent.
