From Essex to Las Vegas: Shannon Darcy Takes Her Next Big Step with “Treasures and Gold”

It is an exciting time for Essex singer-songwriter Shannon Darcy as she has just released her brand new single, “Treasures and Gold”. The track follows on from “Control Freak”, released back in January, but looks at a very different subject. The song was written during a difficult period in Shannon’s life, and focuses on the hurt caused by a family relationship and the realisation that being related to someone does not necessarily mean feeling supported or valued by them.
Shannon has been very open and honest with this track and laid herself open emotionally, giving the song an authenticity that you only get from someone who writes from the heart. “I wrote this song at a time when I was feeling quite low and unwanted by a person in my life who is supposed to be there for me,” Shannon explains. That honesty is central to her approach as an artist, with previous releases having explored anxiety, relationships, self-worth and personal growth, with a willingness to show her vulnerability and turning it into a real strength.
