Undercover Bitch

Minneapolis indie rock collective Hallaballoo recently released their single Undercover Bitch and it is a song you should definitely check out if you haven't already done so. Full of full on groove laden guitar work and powerful vocals courtesy of Kaity Heart (Sunflower Fox and the Chicken Leg), this gets right in your face in the best possible way.

To quote the band, Hallaballoo are known for their "fearless live performances" and I can say that having listened to Undercover Bitch, it is easy to see how that translates into their music. It is clear that the songwriting ability of the collective (James Gross, Alexander Berg, David Kittelson, Aaron Earl Short, Travis Johnston, Maxwell LaRock, and Nick Murray) is strong and they have left a looseness to the performance that leans to the improvised and collaborative efforts of the band. 

The raw energy is still there and hasn't been lost in production, giving the song an unpredictability that makes this track a true earworm and so easy to listen to over and over as there is so much going on that you hear something new with every listen. If you are on the look out for something exciting to add to your playlists then this is a real contender.
