NORTHERN GENTLEMAN

Blitz Vega have just released their final project featuring the late, great Andy Rourke, 'Northern Gentleman'.
Formed by Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and Happy Monday's Kav Sandhu, Blitz Vega saw a collaboration of inspirational musical minds, but sadly Andy lost a long battle with pancreatic cancer in May 2023, bringing his time with the project to a close.
Andy was taken from this world before Northern Gentleman was finished, leaving Kav to complete the album on behalf of them both. The end result is a stunning collection of songs that are a testament to the song-writing skills of the duo.
The album starts off strong with 'Disconnected', which has some stunning guitar work, telling a story of getting lost in today's online society and the need to feel something real for a change. It is very catchy, so be warned.

Kav's unique vocal style, which is highlighted on Strong Forever, is refreshingly nostalgic. The track features Andy's former bandmate Johnny Marr, which adds an extra special layer to the track. There really is so much variety to the ten-track collection of songs that it feels like a very fitting tribute to Andy and the legacy of great music he has left behind. There is absolutely no filler on this album.
Northern Gentleman has been finely crafted and celebrates the very best of Blitz Vega. From the atmospheric 'High Gravity' to the Hip Hop influences on the closing track 'Pass the Gun', Kav has done Andy proud in picking up and running with the Blitz Vega banner, finishing the duo's final project together with real style.
Northern Gentleman is a must-hear album. Whether it is your first encounter with Andy Rourke, Kav Sandhu, and Blitz Vega or not, you will find a new instant classic in this album; it just begs to be played over and over.
