GOOD HEALTH GOOD WEALTH
THIS TIME NEXT YEAR WE'LL BE MILLIONAIRES
Good Health Good Wealth’s new album 'This Time Next Year We'll Be Millionaires' doesn’t sound like a debut. It feels like two people sitting in cosy pub somewhere, getting warm around the fire place as rain pours down outside and taking time to share stories they’ve been carrying around with them. Luckily for you they have finally decided to record those stories so you can take your place around that table and listen in. There are seven tracks in total with each one tied to a day of the week, and each one sounds like it’s being told to a mate rather than a recording studio.
Bruce Breakey tends to talk more than he sings, and it works really well for this sort of storytelling. His voice has that unfiltered tone that fits the writing. He just tells you how it is without dressing it up. Full on and honest. Simon Kuzmickas builds his guitar lines around that and beats that change from track to track but in a coherent way that brings the whole album together as a complete piece.

Full Circle opens the week in a rush. The Café slows things down, a bit of breathing room before You Don’t Know Me featuring Fredwave shakes it up again. White Men hits hard, it's stripped back and uneasy, while I Forgot drifts into something heavier. Beautiful Boy lightens the tone without losing that sense of reflection using stunning synth work to bring an otherworldly vibe to the track. The final track, This Time Next Year We’ll Be Millionaires, feels like a bit of a reset moment, steady, open, closing off the album perfectly.
The album’s strength is in how direct it is. There are no big statements or no showy production, it is basically just two artists writing about the kind of life most people recognise.
