Singer-songwriter India Arkin is back with her brand new single, '143'. India, who has made her home in Newcastle upon Tyne, has seen her career on an upward trajectory of late. India recently became HMV 1921 label's first-ever artist, and having made a name in the local music scene, gathering a large, loyal following, and being featured by BBC Introducing, it is no surprise that India was snapped up by the fledgling record label.
India released her highly anticipated debut album 'Home Truths', in conjunction with National Album Day, and continued to tour and bring her music to audiences at festivals across the UK throughout this year. Despite such a busy schedule, India and her band have found time to record a brand new single, '143'.

The track is a complex mixture of musical styles, starting off sounding very much like a club anthem, which definitely woke me up. The tone of the track takes a sharp turn from club anthem to a calm, soulful vocal performance from India.
From low energy and silky smooth to powerful and precise, India's vocal control is impeccable and complements the musical aspects of the song throughout. '143' is a gloriously rock-infused track that has so much going on that you will hear something new with every listen.
From busking on the streets of Newcastle to playing in the numerous clubs, pubs, and intimate venues across the North and beyond, India has certainly paid her dues to the local music scene, and that hard work shows in the quality of her song-writing on '143'. An incredibly accomplished performance.
Check out '143' for yourself on October 13th, with streaming available from midnight. Find out more at indiaarkin.com
