INDIA ARKIN
SENSELESS
Independent artist India Arkin has come a long way since we first caught up with her waaaaay back in February 2022 where we discussed the singer songwriters debut EP. Since then, India has amassed a loyal following of fans, thanks to her prolific touring including national headline tours as well as festival dates like Stockton Calling and a residency at The Sage in Gateshead.
Now, 2 and a half years later, India has just released a brand new single, "Senseless". The track is a celebration of India's unique style. The singers vocals are silky smooth yet powerful and momentarily draws your ear further and further into India Arkin's world.
The track is a real treat for the old lugs, just as the serene vocals were drifting me off, I was brought back to reality in an instant as I heard the start of a rather epic guitar solo. Really incredible work, and one of the best new solos I have heard for a while. "Senseless" really does take you on a musical journey, ticking all the right boxes along the way. With great drum work and a glorious bassline that held everything together as India helped me to explore a sonic landscape created in my mind by the talented rising star and her band.
