Set for Huge Week at
 Exhibition Park

Picture
In the Park Newcastle is set to return to Exhibition Park on Wednesday 8th of July for a celebration of live music in the iconic setting of the historic park. It is already shaping up to be one of the defining weeks in the city's summer. Following from a super successful debut at its new home, the concert series has expanded not only in scale but also in ambition. This year brings together chart topping names, established music legends and more to the heart of Newcastle.

Text reads: “In the Park Presents Lewis Capaldi.” Wednesday 8 July marked sold out, with a new date added for Thursday 9 July. Location listed as Newcastle, Exhibition Park.
The opening nights will see Lewis Capaldi headlining, with the Wednesday show completely sold out which prompted the organisers to add a second date on the Thursday to make sure everyone has the chance to be a part of this spectacular event. This marks the Lewis' biggest ever outdoor headline performances in the city. It comes as Capaldi's recent UK and Ireland arena tour sold out across 17 dates, on top of that his single Survive quickly became one of the fastest selling releases of the year. That momentum continues with the Exhibition Park gigs setting the tone for the week, with thousands of music fans expected through the gates from 5pm each evening.

There is a switch up on Friday 10th of July as Paul Weller will step into the spotlight. Paul , whose career spans more than five decades, was the first headliner to be announced for 2026. From his early years fronting The Jam right through to the stylistic shift of The Style Council and into his solo catalogue, which includes the likes of Wild Wood and Stanley Road, Weller's music remains sewn into the fabric of the UK music scene. He has won numerous awards, including multiple Brit Awards, Ivor Novellos and eight UK number one records with a total of 28 studio albums. And with his more recent records, On Sunset and 66, he has continued to underline that drive to keep moving forward.

His headline set at In the Park is expected to draw a broad cross section of fans, from those who discovered his music with The Jam in the 1970s right up to the younger audiences who have discovered his more recent work, so this is going to be a really mixed audience with one shared goal. On the Friday Paul will be joined on the bill by award-winning singer and musician Miles Kane and the North East's very own Amelia Coburn, bringing a line-up that celebrates British music at its best. Tickets for the show are priced from £58.50 plus a booking fee.
