DECOY
Introducing Decoy, we caught up with the band to find out a bit about who they are and what they are about. Read on to find out more about Decoy.
Q. Firstly, who is Decoy?
We’re a metalcore band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We started in the summer of 2017. Our members include Jonah Smith on vocals, Lucien Champton on drums, Chris Rumfellow on bass, along with Matt Rumfellow and Bobby Burnette on guitar
Q. What is it about metal music that resonates with you and makes you want to create?
We all love the passion and intensity that goes into metal/hardcore music. There’s nothing like a live show in this genre, it’s something you have to experience to truly understand.
Q. Who or what inspired you to start a band?
We’ve all been around music our whole lives for the most part and we all found each other through shows. We’ve been friends for years now, so it just made sense to all get together and start this band in particular after doing other projects in the past together.

Q. Could you tell us about your latest single, smg?
SMG is a fun one! It stands for self-made glitch which was supposed to be the actual track name, but we had the file named SMG for short and it accidentally never got changed whenever it got uploaded ha-ha Powerful and intense lyrics/vocals over chaotic and dark instrumentation with a little bit of melody thrown in at the end. We tried to blend a decent amount of stuff in it and hopefully everyone enjoys it as much as we do.
Q. What are your future plans for Decoy?
Do this full time and tour everywhere. We want to play as many places as possible.
