James Bellew
Summers Last Embrace
James Bellew is back with Summer’s Last Embrace, his first electronic dance music track in 25 years. Created in his home studio using riffs and samples that he created way back in the late 1990's, James put his wealth of experience and talent to good use. With drum and bass and plenty of synth layers in the mix, he has created a track filled with nostalgia but with a modern edge.
Summer's Last Embrace, features Bellew's vocals that add an extra dimension against the beats and samples filling the spaces in between. It isn't a track that is overly flashy or full of pretence, it is a snapshot of a moment of transition.

James has pulled inspirations from a wide range of musicians and artists including, Dua Lip, Tiësto, Sash, Armin van Buuren and while you can definitely feel their influence, this is no way a carbon copy of their work. This is very much a great track in its own right. James uses sound to paint a picture of late afternoons, the feeling of a summer day and long summer nights, the sense of change that comes whether you want it or not.
Summer's Last Embrace isn't about the past despite the use of early Bellew material, it isn't about the future either. It is very much all about the current moment and living in the here and now.
