Come Together Festival

Day two of the Come Together Festival in Newcastle saw headliners Kings Of Leon lighting up the Town Moor with a stunning show.
Day 2 saw plenty of North East talent rocking out with appearances from Liam Fender, Leazes, Cortney Dixon and Dolder, and they did the region proud for sure. As well as the local crew turning out in force, there was plenty of variety with Chloe Slater opening the main stage and names like Kerr Mercer, Mitch Sander, Basht., Aaron Rowe, and The Kairos all adding their own sound to this unique festival in the heart of the Toon.
The main stage saw plenty of action throughout the day. The Cribs, The Snuts and The Reytons played to a huge crowd, although they did point out that the Golden Circle looked a bit sparse, with a huge gap between the general admission and those at the front. Reytons fans started chanting "F the Golden Circle", but that aside the fans loved what they were seeing on stage. The high-energy performances from all of the bands, as well as a good helping of pyro during the Reytons set, made for a great atmosphere, with the occasional flare in the crowd adding that classic festival vibe.

Mancunian rockers Courteneers did a cracking job of riding the atmosphere that had built up over the afternoon and added to the excitement and anticipation from the Newcastle audience as they blasted out a good mix of their back catalogue, including 'Not Nineteen Forever', which they dedicated to headliners Kings Of Leon.

Speaking of the Kings Of Leon, they took to the stage to roars of excitement from the very full town moor. The fans had waited patiently all afternoon to see the band do their thing, and they weren't left disappointed as the American rockers brought their own brand of rock music to an eager crowd.

Playing a solid set which featured a whopping 24 songs, including, of course, mega-hit 'Sex on Fire', which topped off a rather epic two days of music and partying.

All in all, the Come Together Festival was a massive success. It was great to see so many big names playing to huge crowds right in the centre of Newcastle. A city that definitely deserves a music festival of it's own, and this is one that it can be very proud of. A great way to kick off the bank holiday weekend and great way to show that the music scene in Newcastle is very much alive and kicking.
