Today, global superstar Lewis Capaldi unveils “Stay Love,” a special addition to his critically acclaimed 2025 Survive EP. The Scottish hitmaker debuted the emotional ballad in a free pop-up performance at Penn Station yesterday before bringing it to his biggest ever U.S. headliner at Madison Square Garden last night - an early highlight from his most ambitious North American tour yet. Listen to the Survive Deluxe EP HERE and “Stay Love” HERE.

Just hours before the sold-out concert,
Capaldi set up shop in front of Damselfly Flowers to perform three songs to unwitting commuters and handed out single-stem blooms to fans, observers, and passersby. The crowd swelled to well over 5,000 fans, turning the New York City landmark into a cavernous music hall. Watch HERE.

A tender, piano-led plea for companionship,
“Stay Love” finds Capaldi at his most vulnerable, pairing his unmistakably rich voice with a stripped-back arrangement that allows every lyric to resonate: “Oh just stay, love, when everybody’s leaving / C’mon stay, love, to get me through the evening / You know I pray, love, that you'll always be the one / And when the road gets rough, don’t give up on us, and this could stay love.” Infused with hope, the track leans into the quiet intensity that has become a hallmark of Capaldi’s artistry, delivering a powerful performance that underscores both fragility and resolve.

Produced by
The Monsters & Strangerz and Michael Pollack, “Stay Love” expands Survive into a five-track collection, further deepening the emotional arc that Capaldi traces across his latest body of work. The EP already includes the anthemic title track “Survive,” which topped the UK charts, the soul-searching “Something In The Heavens,” the post-breakup standout “Almost,” and the devastating “The Day That I Die,” each exploring different shades of loss, endurance, progress, and promise. Upon the EP’s release, Billboard wrote, “Lewis Capaldi is very much back. Surviving, thriving.”

The official unveiling of “Stay Love” at Madison Square Garden carried a special significance. Early in his career, one of Capaldi’s first U.S. headline shows took place at New York’s Rockwood Music Hall - a venue that, like many independent spaces, has since closed its doors. In tribute to that early break, Capaldi invited the Rockwood staff and their families to attend as guests last night, and made a donation to the National Independent Venue Association in recognition of the vital role such spaces play in developing artists.

“NIVA is incredibly grateful to Lewis Capaldi for honoring the venue that helped launch his career and for recognizing the role independent stages play in every artist’s journey,” said Stephen Parker, Executive Director of NIVA. “It’s powerful to see an artist at this level acknowledge the small rooms where it all begins. At a time when many independent venues are struggling to profit and survive, this kind of leadership inspires the independent live entertainment industry to keep going."

Capaldi’s North American run continues with upcoming stops at landmark venues including Boston’s MGM Music Hall (this weekend), Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (two nights), and, among others, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. After blazing through his last 200,000-ticket UK arena tour, Lewis will then take on his biggest ever UK & Irish headline shows this summer, with more being added due to phenomenal demand. Twelve huge outdoor headline shows will include two at London’s 65,000 capacity American Express presents BST Hyde Park on July 11th & 12th, with Capaldi fast approaching one million tickets sold globally this year alone. Full dates below & tickets HERE.

The Survive EP has already proven to be a defining chapter in Capaldi’s career, bagging a monumental sixth number 1 single with his comeback title track, joining esteemed company with the likes of Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Drake, Lady Gaga & Queen to achieve six UK number 1 singles, beating David Bowie, Katy Perry, The Police & more, as well as 10 Top 10 UK singles.

Lewis performed ‘Survive’ as part of his
BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge as well as an iconic sofa and performance appearance on The Graham Norton Show alongside Taylor Swift, where he once again charmed audiences with his trademark wit & heartbreaking songwriting. He also turned in special US performances of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon & Good Morning America.

Lewis’ last release, the hit-stacked record
Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, scored him his second UK number 1 album, creating another three heartbreaking UK number 1 singles, ‘Pointless’, ‘Wish You The Best’ and the Platinum-certified ‘Forget Me’, working with hitmakers including Max Martin (Taylor Swift, The Weeknd), Malay (Lorde, Frank Ocean), and longtime collaborator Phil Plested (James Bay, Bastille). The album also gained widespread critical acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, New York Times, NME, Rolling Stone, GQ, Stereogum & many more. It also topped airplay charts, smashing an impressive 95,000 units, outselling the rest of that week’s Top 10 combined, as well as outselling first week sales of his own monumental debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.

Lewis’ subsequent success stems back to 2019’s multimillion selling debut
Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, which propelled Capaldi from bedroom musician to superstar. Few had seen a debut release quite like it, becoming the biggest selling UK album of both 2019 & 2020, spawning two UK number 1 singles, bagging a few BRITs and a GRAMMY® nomination, with one of those number 1’s becoming a smash hit on both sides of the globe in ‘Someone You Loved’, which as well as recently going 10x Platinum, is also the UK’s most streamed song of all time & the world’s fourth highest ever streamed song.

With the addition of ‘Stay Love’, Lewis continues to build this exciting new phase of his career - not by shifting course, but by leaning further into the unvarnished honesty that has long defined his music.
