BECKY HILL
UTILITA ARENA - NEWCASTLE
Becky Hill is a two-time Brit Award winner, with over seven billion streams (a staggering number by anyone's standards). She has recently been touring the UK on her Do You Believe Me Now? tour. We were lucky enough to go along to her Newcastle show.
The arena was buzzing with anticipation as the first of two openers took to the stage. Charlie Boon was up first, and his DJ set was just what the doctor ordered after the fans queued up in the northern evening air. Charlie took no time at all to get things moving; with a huge grin on his face, he entertained the ever growing crowd.
There was a real party atmosphere as Charlie left the stage. A job very well done.

By the time North London singer-songwriter Catching Cairo came on, the arena was pretty much full. It was Catching Cairo's Newcastle debut, which she acknowledged with a quick "Hello Newcastle, I've never played here before.".
Playing in an arena full of people would be a daunting task for most people, but Catching Cairo put on a stunning performance with the confidence of a true star.
There was great crowd interaction, and I am sure Catching Cairo left the stage with a lot of new Geordie fans.

Becky Hill has seen a meteoric rise to stardom over recent years and has seen her following grow with her. That showed in the enthusiasm of the fans at the sold out arena. As Becky appeared on stage, the whole place erupted with screams and cheers.
The main stage was on two tiers, giving those at the back a good view of the 'Better Off Without You' star. A sleek and minimalist set, but the lighting and visuals on the giant screens were impeccable.
Becky didn't look out of place on the big stage and was definitely having a good time, a huge smile beaming from her face as she surveyed the Newcastle crowd.
Becky's unique voice sounded great, and the crowd sang along with Becky as she sang through a mammoth 26 song setlist. Starting off with True Colours, Becky had an instant connection with the crowd. Although the arena is a big place, Becky made sure to get as close as possible to the fans. Leaving the main stage at one point to perform 'Man of My Dreams' on a smaller stage in the middle of the audience is a nice touch and something that will have created a lasting memory for her fans.
The Newcastle fans were given a night to remember. A really great show.
