You may recognise Bradley Simpson as the frontman of the multi-award-winning band The Vamps. On top of his band duties, he has been rather busy of late, with his debut album The Panic Years achieving the number 7 spot in the UK charts, as well as collaborating with the very talented Nieve Ella on a new version of Favourite Band. Bradley has been on quite a musical journey.

Bradley has taken to the road to celebrate his album's release, and he brought Nieve Ella along with him for the UK leg of the tour, giving the fans the chance to see their favourite songs live and in person. We were lucky enough to catch Bradley's show on the second night of the tour in Newcastle.

The queue for the gig seemed to go on forever, with Bradley's fans turning out in huge numbers to see him perform in a gloriously intimate venue. The place was already very full by the time Nieve Ella made her way to the stage to open up proceedings.
Nieve gave a stellar job of getting the crowd going, with a great performance playing a short but powerful set that had the audience singing along. Nieve briefly halted the performance to alert security to a fainting fan. The short stop didn't seem to faze the rising star as she got straight back into the swing of things. Finishing off her set with Sugarcoated, Nieve left the stage having done a fine job of warming up an already very warm room.

After a short break, a very packed NUSU was buzzing with excitement as Bradley walked onstage. Kicking off the night with 'Getting Clear' before saying hi to the Geordie fans, some of whom were beside themselves with excitement, as Bradley took the opportunity to get down to meet some of the fans in person as he hopped off the stage and down to the barrier.

The advantage of being so close to the fans in a venue of that size is that there is so much concentrated energy from the fans to bounce off, that it really enhances the whole experience. Bradley's voice was spot on as expected, but the real highlight was the fan interaction. From holding hands to getting into the crowd at one point, Bradley really seemed to be having as much of a good time as the fans were.

From Picasso to Daisies, Bradley gave the crowd exactly what they came for, with Nieve Ella joining him onstage for their new version of Favourite Band to make the evening extra special. The whole night really worked; even Bradley's joke about changing the name of Cry At The Moon to Cry At The Toon and his Geordie "Alreet Pet" didn't dampen the mood.

All in all, there was no way you could have been at this gig and not had a great time. Nice one, Bradley.
