It has been a long journey for rising star, Newcastle singer songwriter Charlie Floyd. We first saw him playing with as part of the band Baltic way back in 2019, where they shared the billing with names like Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and The Vaccines on Newcastle's Town Moor. Now in 2025 he has made the leap from band member to solo artist, and with his brand new single 'Take it or Leave it' seeing it's radio on BBC Radio Newcastle the future is looking very bright indeed for Charlie.

Charlie is working hard to bring his music to as many new ears as possible and that hard work has definitely paid off with a sold out headline show at Newcastle's ThinkTank helping to launch the new single. Bringing along more local talent with him in the form of Scrannabis and indie rockers Park View, Charlie made sure that the night was going to be one to remember.

The venue was packed to the rafters with music lovers who were eager to see Charlie Floyd perform. As the clock struck 9pm Charlie and his bandmates walked on stage to deafening applause from the hometown crowd. With a grin from ear to ear, Charlie kicked off the night saying, "Come on thinktank are we ready for a good night or what?" before kicking off a stellar show with his debut single 'Do It Again'. It is easy to see why he his fanbase has continued to grow as his charisma is so infectious and his ability to get the crowd going with ease is a joy to watch.

Those who were lucky enough to be at thinktank for this intimate show witnessed Charlie at his very best and those who couldn't make it have another chance to catch Charlie Floyd as he supports Robbie Williams at Newcastle's Town Moor later this year. The massive Come Together festival will feature huge names in music including Robbie and Kings of Leon across three epic days.
