2024 was a fine year for Lock-In as they completed a sold-out debut headline tour, earned ongoing support from BBC Introducing, and played an unforgettable set at Truck that saw frontman Benjy Leak performing while hoisted up by fans in the middle of the audience. But that just prepared the foundations for a bigger 2025 which Lock-In now kick-start with two big announcements: today’s release of their new single ‘Against The World’ and their biggest headline show to date at London’s Dingwalls on May 17th.
Lock-In have passionately affirmed that ‘Against The World’ is their best track to date, an argument which only takes one spin to believe in. They take a maximalist approach to every element of their sound with sun-soaked grooves and sparkling guitars which echo Bombay Bicycle Club and Foals, through to an anthemic indie-pop hook and Benjy’s ever-charismatic delivery. It’s therefore more than appropriate that his lyrics encourage everything to dare to dream big, regardless of what obstacles may stand in your way.
Benjy says, “This is our message: Dream big, keep believing, and stride forward. We have a strong belief in fate and the power of manifestation, and we want that to resonate through our music. When it comes to the live experience of our song, we aimed to create something that everyone can enjoy—something to dance to and jump around with. It’s us against the world, together.”
‘Against The World’ is the first taste of Lock-In’s recent sessions with producer Max Marlow (Declan McKenna, Snow Patrol). Expect more new music to follow soon.
Lock-In’s Dingwalls show continues their run of increasingly large gigs in London having previously sold-out Water Rats, Omeara, The Garage and Lafayette. And with all pre-sale tickets quickly snapped up, expect Dingwalls to sell-out too - limited tickets remain available HERE. Lock-In consistently bring irresistible energy and eye-catching antics whether they’re playing big festivals at the Isle of Wight and Truck or shows with The K’s, Rum Jungle, Planet, The Twang, The Lilacs, Komparrison and Spangled, plus a tour of Germany with The Terrys. Key streaming support included a Spotify New Music Friday playlist to coincide with their 2024 EP ‘On To The Next’.
Formed in Essex, Lock-In released their debut EP in 2021 and have been steadily on the rise ever since - and now it’s time to amplify their ascent. All friends since their school days, the band also features Benjy’s brother Joe Leak (guitar), Angus Moore (guitar), Sam Collins (bass) and Ollie Stacey (drums). With most of the band members being West Ham fans, they had the honour of soundtracking the club’s home and away kit launches.
