Would Be Better
Madrid-born and Brighton based artist Luan Luan is closing out the summer with a new single, Would Be Better, which dropped on 29 August 2025. It marks the second track from their forthcoming debut EP and continues the thread of storytelling introduced earlier this year with Nonsense.
Where the first single 'Nonsense', captured the strain of a difficult relationship, 'Would Be Better' begins to question its future. The song carries a brighter sound reflecting both the uncertainty and optimism that shaped it. Written soon after Luan Luan relocated from Madrid to Brighton it was their first piece composed in a new city while navigating the decision to leave a toxic situation.

Lyrically, the single explores the contradictions of wanting connection while recognising the harm it can cause. The line "Would be better if you could say my name and Would be better to keep myself away from danger." illustrates that tension. The production, mixed and mastered by Paul Winstanley, underpins the push and pull with an energetic arrangement that keeps the track moving forward.
Music has been a constant for Luan since childhood, when they grew up surrounded by their parents’ wide ranging record collection, spanning rock, pop, soul, flamenco, and bossa nova. That early exposure set the foundation for their writing, which blends vivid imagery with personal reflection.
Would Be Better is the second of four tracks to feature on Luan Luan’s debut EP, set for release later this year.
