MAX NORTON
Breaks New Ground with “Chains”
After years of touring the world as a professional drummer, Max Norton is ready to be heard in a whole new way. His new single, “Chains”, out May 16, doesn’t just mark a return, it’s a reintroduction.
The track captures a mix of restlessness and relief, the kind of song that feels good blasting from a car stereo on a long drive. There’s grit in the guitars, a pulse in the rhythm, and a freedom woven through the lyrics that feels earned, not imagined. It’s music for people chasing something, even if they’re not sure what.
Max has been on some of the biggest stages in music, Coachella, Glastonbury, Late Night TV, but “Chains” is personal. Written, performed, and produced entirely by Norton, it’s the sound of someone stepping fully into their own voice. After time spent living in London and now settling in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, he's drawing on years of experience while still pushing into fresh territory.

Max has thrown off the chains of the past and has taken a huge leap into a new and exciting musical future. Putting all of his experience in creating his own unique sound developed over decades, and that leap has paid off for sure.
“There’s just something about the Shoals,” he says. “A history in the sound, a spirit in the place. I wanted to tap into that.”
Max plays shows this summer in Florence, Alabama (July 25 and September 13), with more dates coming soon. For now, “Chains” is the perfect introduction, or maybe the perfect next chapter, from an artist finally telling his own story, on his own terms.
