San Francisco artist Michellar continues her recent run of releases with Do We Love Us, a track that looks closely at the space between connection and hesitation. Do We Love Us is a very upbeat, playful electronic heavy track but early versions were slower with the guitar leading the arrangement. The final recording is full of movement and energy that is reminiscent at time of Pet Shop Boys.

When asked about the song's background, Michellar said: "The Weekend influenced the sound of this song. The song's backstory is influenced by a crush on a collaborator. I always loved the modern easy going melodies of The Weekend's songs. So when I wrote this song on my acoustic guitar.... and finished it .... I wanted to achieve that same vibe with this song and contacted Marius right away. " 

Lyrically the song looks at questioning relationships, focussing on the question rather than the answer. It is introspective and unassuming at first listen but listen a little more and the question is one that everyone has asked themselves at some point. A very real human experience.

The track is truly international affair, with recording taking place in San Francisco and the production and mastering being handled by Marius Alexandru in Romania. Do We Love Us is a great example of an artist who continues to experiment with ideas and creativity rather than simply settling to a fixed formula.
