American rockers Alter Bridge began their What Lies Within tour in the UK with a spectacular performance at Utilita Arena Newcastle. The night was the first of six dates in the UK with a seventh UK appearance at Blackbird Festival in June. It has been a little while since the band fronted by Myles Kennedy played in the city, so Newcastle was ready for an Alter Bridge gig, and they weren't left disappointed. From the moment the doors opened, you could feel the static in the air; this wasn't just a concert, it was a homecoming.

Post-punk-art-rockers Young Knives have announced a UK tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their Mercury Music Prize-nominated debut album Voices of Animals and Men.
 The 14-date tour will kick off in Norwich on 12th November and will play further dates in Nottingham, Portsmouth, Carlisle, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol and Brighton, before ending with two nights in Oxford on 10th and 11th December.

Transvision Vamp have announced their first UK tour since 1991. The 16-date tour will begin on October 6th in Newcastle and includes a London show at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. The tour will also travel to Belfast and Dublin.

The band recently wrapped up a sold-out tour in Australia and New Zealand. In September, Transvision Vamp will play Portugal and Spain directly before heading to the UK.
