The record was written and recorded in Catania and brings together songs developed across several years rather than during one concentrated period. It is thanks to that fact that helped to shape the way the album came together, not following one, single narrative. The band recently hosted a sold-out Christmas acoustic show at the historic and intimate Roker Watch House, raising just over £500 for the NSPCC through ticket donations, CD sales and online giving. The seaside venue provided a fitting backdrop for the stripped-back performance, which saw the band play songs from across their catalogue alongside new material and festive sing-alongs.
