Chaz has just released a new instrumental called Eikou no Tsuioku, which translates as Reminiscence of Glory, and it’s a track that really grows on you. It opens quietly, with a slow build that feels almost like you’re watching something come back to life. There’s a lot of emotion in the way it develops, and just when you think it’s going to stay mellow, it starts to shift.
Chaz has highlighted the key moments which come at 1:20, 2:00, 2:32, and again at 2:40, where the energy lifts and everything starts to hit harder. It’s not just about being loud though, Chaz knows how to shape a track so it feels like a story unfolding without needing any lyrics.
He’s clearly got a strong background in composition. With experience in classical piano, classical guitar, and electric guitar, plus a master’s in music composition, it makes sense that the track blends classical and romantic-era influences with modern rock and metal. You can hear bits of all of that here, but it never feels forced. It just flows.
There’s a personal tone to it too, almost like he’s telling a story only he fully understands, but it still pulls you in.
