The iconic musician proved once again why he is considered a legend in the industry, captivating the audience with his exceptional talent and undeniable stage presence. The support act, India Electric Co. were on point and gave a superb performance managing to get the crowd warmed up nicely. India Electric Co. are in fact Midge Ure's own band so they definitely put in a full shift. They are well worth checking out if you get the opportunity. From the moment Midge Ure took the stage, the atmosphere was electric. The crowd erupted into cheers and applause as he kicked off the show with a powerful rendition of "Dear God" then straight into "If I was" and the Ultravox classic "Fade to Grey", It was clear right from the start that he hadn't lost any of his magic over the years. His voice sounded as strong and vibrant as ever, effortlessly hitting every note with precision. The setlist was a well-curated mix of his solo work and memorable songs from his days with Ultravox as well as his cover if the Tom Rush classic "No Regrets". Midge Ure showcased his versatility as an artist, seamlessly transitioning between intimate acoustic ballads and high-energy synth-pop anthems. The audience was completely enthralled throughout, singing along and swaying to the music. It was a nostalgic journey that reminded us why these songs have stood the test of time. One of the standout moments of the night was undoubtedly the most eagerly anticipated song of the night, "Vienna". A moment that sent shivers down the spine. The band accompanying him was exceptional as well, providing a tight and polished performance that enhanced the overall experience. Beyond the music, Midge Ure took the time to engage with the audience. His warm and charismatic personality shone through, creating an intimate connection with everyone in the venue. It was evident that he genuinely appreciates his fans and cherishes the opportunity to perform for them. The staging and lighting complemented the music perfectly, creating a visually stunning backdrop for Midge Ure's performance. Midge Ure's show at Newcastle City Hall was a triumph. His exceptional talent, combined with a well-crafted setlist and engaging stage presence, made for an unforgettable evening.
