OLI
When It All Goes Quiet
OLI, has created an album that bridges the gap between her two worlds, born Olivia Masek in New Jersey and raised in London from the age of two. Her debut album, When It All Goes Quiet, captures her approach to music, and approach that is carefully layered, precise, and emotionally focused. The record features strings from cellist Zara Hudson-Kozdoj and, on the vinyl edition, a rare duet with Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode, “Does That Hurt?”, recorded two years prior.
OLI handles vocals with clarity and control, moving between soft passages and more intense moments with subtlety. The album is well balanced, electronic and acoustic elements compliment each other's arrangements perfectly, neither of them dominating over the other. The structure provided by the electronics giving a real texture for the acoustic elements to develop, with a consistent focus on composition and performance, OLI has created a real musical gem.
When It All Goes Quiet has been tested in live settings, including the Isle of Wight Festival, and tracks have reached listeners through Spotify playlists such as Jazz UK and Fresh Finds Jazz. The album reflects OLI’s meticulous approach to her music and her commitment to presenting her work exactly as she intends. Establishing her as an artist with a defined vision and a precise sense of craft, offering a collection of songs built from focus, intent, and experience. When It All Goes Quiet is available right now.
