Phil
Mind at Ease

Picture
Vienna-based musician Phil Woloch released his new single “Mind At Ease” back in April this year. Phil, a pianist and songwriter performing with his band, leans into a 70s pop rock sound but with an indie touch that keeps it current.

The track is built around piano and guitar with a steady groove running through it. Listeners will probably hear echoes of Billy Joel or Elton John, but the song sits firmly in today’s indie space. Lyrically and musically it circles around themes of growing up, that in-between feeling of moving from youth into adulthood, finding some sense of freedom along the way.

Phil has been working in music from a young age. He won the Joe Zawinul Award at 14, an achievement that took him into studios in Los Angeles before his career had even started. Back in Vienna he studied piano and vocals at the University of Music and Performing Arts, sharpening his skills while writing material of his own.

“Mind At Ease” is the first of several new releases expected under his own label. It shows the direction he is heading in – piano at the core, band-driven energy around it, written for both the stage and wider use in film or sync projects.

The single is available right now on all major platforms.
