SATSUMA
Anodyne
Edinburgh artist Satsuma introduces his debut EP Anodyne with a clear sense of intent. It is a guitar-led release that leans into the sound of a full band, even though every aspect of the record comes from the creative mind of just one person.
Cam Halkerston is the man behind the project, writing, recording and producing everything himself. That includes everything from vocals and all the instruments to mixing, quite a task. The benefit of being the sole creator is that no matter what part of the album you listen to, you are hearing exactly what Cam intended.

From the acoustic intro to Ash and Dust to distorted, echoey vocals on Scorched Earth or the title track Anodyne, which has an early Nirvana vibe going on, every track is carefully crafted and showcases the multifaceted skill and talent of Cam and his ability to write a great song.
As well as writing, performing and mixing the entire EP himself, Cam also painted the artwork himself, and he has done a cracking job. Anodyne is out right now for you to check out for yourself, and you definitely should. Don't forget to follow Cam on his socials to keep up to date with his future releases.
