Scarlet Mill
She waits
Amsterdam duo Scarlet Mill have unveiled their latest single She Waits, released on 7 August 2025. The band, formed by Jennifer Moesker and Erik Verhoef, are joined once again by saxophonist Maarten Verhoef, who has become a permanent fixture in their recordings.
The track follows on from their earlier summer release Sad Affair and marks a clear shift in sound. While the last single leaned on a slow, fado-influenced mood, She Waits takes inspiration from early 70s glam rock. Analogue Juno synths, layered guitars and a saxophone-wah-wah duet form the backbone of the song.

At its core, She Waits is part of a wider story being told across Scarlet Mill’s forthcoming second album. The lyrics place a male character in a nightclub, confronted with music that pulls fragments of memory back into focus. The atmosphere is nostalgic but charged with new energy, echoing influences such as David Bowie and PJ Harvey.
Scarlet Mill began releasing music in 2020 with their debut Chronicles and have since built a catalogue of singles including Port Henry, Sinking Man and Sea Devil. The band are currently preparing for the presentation of their new album in spring 2026.
She Waits is available now on streaming platforms.
