SEX PISTOLS feat FRANK CARTER
Set to play venue they have been banned from since 1976 on their ANARCHY IN THE U.K. TOUR
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF PUNK
Words: Press
Marking 50 years of punk, Sex Pistols feat. Frank Carter today announce more UK dates on their Anarchy In The U.K. tour.
Fifty years ago on 5th of December 1976 the Sex Pistols were supposed to unleash Anarchy in the UK upon the city. Instead, back then, local officials panicked in the wake of the infamous Bill Grundy TV incident, slamming the door shut and banning the vanguard of punk from playing the City Hall, seemingly forever.
Half a century later, the ghosts of 1976 have finally been laid to rest as The Sex Pistols, with Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock with Frank Carter on the mic are set to play the historic venue on the band's 50th Anniversary tour.
Initially, booked to play at NX Newcastle it looks like they had profoundly underestimated the hunger of the North East fans and the band have just announced that the venue has been upgraded due to huge demand to the O2 City Hall Newcastle. The venue is the same building the band were banned from in 1976.
The upgraded venue isn't just good news for the fans that already have tickets but it is a fantastic opportunity for those who missed out initially to get to see the band doing their thing. The extra tickets went on sale at midday today and there is still time to get yours, but be quick.
Tickets are available here.
