Slow Walk
The Mountain
London-based artist Slow Walk has released his long-awaited original album The Mountain, which landed on August 8th, 2025. Written, recorded, and produced entirely on his own, the project showcases Slow Walk’s love for storytelling through music, drawing influence from classic concept albums like Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds and The Who’s Tommy.
Far from just a collection of tracks, The Mountain plays like a journey in itself. Across its mix of cinematic soundscapes, synth-driven passages, rock energy, and touches of indie and pop, Slow Walk explores themes of self-discovery, resilience, and learning to let go of the weight we all carry. Songs like High Chance and Don’t Carry That Weight highlight the album’s core message: overcoming inner doubts and breaking free from the baggage that holds us back.

What makes the record stand out is not just its scope but its creation. Slow Walk put the album together at home, recording it in order, track by track, over the course of just two weeks. The result is a body of work that feels spontaneous yet connected, with the flow of a story unfolding as it was being written.
Speaking on the inspiration, Slow Walk explained that the album was partly influenced by a friend’s real-life mountain climbing but ultimately reflects his own creative struggles: the distractions, the obstacles, and the persistence needed to push through. “As he sipped his early morning coffee and stared at the huge shadow it cast over the entire town, he thought, why am I scared, it’s only a triangle and maybe it’s time to get to the point,” he reflects, a line that captures the heart of The Mountain.
With its blend of styles and cinematic ambition, The Mountain is Slow Walk’s most personal and expansive project to date. It’s an album built for listeners who enjoy records as journeys, and it invites anyone ready to take the climb to join him.
