Only a Broken Heart Can Hold the World is the debut album by London based Taiwanese artist Susan Style. It is the perfect showcase Susan's sound and a great introduction to the world of electronic synth driven work that Susan Style has developed by fusing Electronic Art-Pop and Avant-Garde Soundscapes to create something rather special.

The album was written and produced by Susan in it's entirety and that has enable her to keep creative control over the music leading to a great mix of slow, chilled out tracks like the opener The Hope From the Dream to the faster paced title track Only a Broken Heart Can Hold the World  which leans heavily in to club focused rhythms and a driving bass that occasionally breaks through as the layered vocals add an extra dimension, almost in a similar vein as mid 90s The Prodigy which is never a bad thing.

The combination of experimental sound design with tracks that have been taken inspiration from the East London underground scene sitting alongside tracks that have clear melodic pop vibes makes for an great listening experience that keeps you on your toes. Having been mixed and mastered by Max Heyes (Massive Attack and Primal Scream), the record has a clean finish that really compliments the layered production perfectly.

Only a Broken Heart Can Hold the World is an album that positions Susan Style as an independent artist with a clear creative vision and direction, the influences of her move from Taiwan to the UK helped to shape the musical and emotional direction of the album but the record is certainly forward thinking and feels very relevant in today's ever changing world. Available to listen to from the 27th of March, this is a record you won't regret listening to.
