The Burbs are back at it again, and they’re not letting up. Their latest single, "There’s No Time For Presents", drops May 16th, and it’s the kind of track that creeps up on you. Starts off sounding like a jangly indie-rock tune, and then bam!!!! the lyrics hit hard.

If you’ve been lucky enough to see The Burbs live, you’ve probably already heard "There's No Time For Presents" already. It’s a fan favourite, and now it’s finally getting a proper release. The track rolls along with a steady rhythm section, hooks everywhere, and a guitar solo that sneaks up just when you think you know where it’s going. But the real gut-punch is in the lyrics,  reflections on self-doubt, regret, and those nagging what-ifs that tend to show up uninvited.

Lines like “Highly doubt if I could’ve done any more, but what happens at the times when you’re not sure” stop you in your tracks a bit. It’s raw, but somehow still comforting. Like someone else has been there too.

This is the fourth release from the Bells Beach trio Danny Valitutti, Peri Brown, and Brook Mckeon following their demo LP Sunlight Spills Across The Swimming Pool and standout singles Ladder To The Moon and Skin And Bones, which picked up solid radio love across Australia and even overseas.

They’re a bit of an enigma, The Burbs. They don’t stick to the script, don’t try to be shiny, and don’t seem to care much for fitting in, and that’s probably why people keep listening.
Tour dates for 2026 coming soon.
