The SKBs
Where This Leads Us

Picture
There’s no easy way to box in Where This Leads Us, the debut album from The SKBs,  and that’s entirely the point. From the first track, it’s clear this isn’t a record trying to fit into trends. It’s a journey, plain and simple, across mood, genre, and something deeper you only really catch when you let it all play through.

The SKBs aren’t a traditional band. Instead, they’re more of a collective, one that leans into the freedom that setup allows. At the centre of it all is songwriter Al Sharp, whose hand guides the album’s direction without ever limiting its range. The lineup shifts, but the cohesion stays. With Leon Cave (of Status Quo) behind the kit, and vocals shared between Si Marx and Sara Davey, each song brings its own atmosphere while feeling part of a larger whole.

You get country tones in Everything Must Change, raw and stripped back like a confession whispered through guitar strings. Then comes Dust in the Light, where sharp riffs and momentum take over, bringing something more urgent. Welcome to My Life slows it down again with a touch of soul and warmth, while The Whale Edge grabs you with a hook that refuses to let go.

This isn’t an album made for algorithms. It’s made for listening, the kind of listening you do when you actually want to feel something. You can stream Where This Leads Us now at www.theskb.com/where-to-find-our-music or on all major platforms.
