Good things come to those who wait, and that is true for Finnish musician Tom Tikka. Having spent many years in successful bands including Carmen Gray and The Impersonators, Tom Tikka kickstarted his solo career back in 2020 and has gone on to release three albums in that time to critical acclaim. He has featured in many high profile magazines, including the iconic Melody Maker.
Fast forward to 2024, and Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps has just released a brand new single. Having previously collaborated with Nolen Chew Jr. of The Star Prairie Project on 'California Smile', the duo have been working on something that is more "poppy and funkier." 'Sweet Surrender' was written by Tikka and Chew and produced by Janne Saksa.
The track carries all of the hallmarks of the duo's musical endeavours, with really catchy melodies and stunning, multi layered harmonies, which make 'Sweet Surrender ' a joy to listen to and a great addition to any playlist. With an awesome guitar solo that grabs your attention and leaves you wanting more, the track is an impressive piece of work.

Of the single artwork, Tom said, " I also love the single cover. The picture of me being swallowed by a giant mouth was taken at a science fair in Poland. My wife was behind the camera, and she took quite a few pictures of me in different poses and with different facial expressions. The attempt was to get it just right. I wonder what the long line of people, lining up to get their own photos taken thought about our little photo shoot, probably that we are mad!"
