NYC-born, UK-based alternative-R&B producer, singer, songwriter and indie label CEO Tomás Doncker is pleased to reveal his new single ‘¡2 BEAUCOUP!’ released today, February 27th 2026 via his label True Groove Records.

Tomás Doncker has long been a prime mover on the New York music, arts and culture scenes. From the early 1980s, as a member of groundbreaking No Wave and Punk Funk bands The Contortions and Defunkt, international touring, recording and songwriting collaborations with luminaries such as Bootsy Collins, Meshell Ndegeocello, Ivan Neville, The Specials and the legendary Ms. Patti Smith, to helming his own band, The True Groove All-Stars, Tomás has established himself as a cross-genre innovator without peer.

Doncker’s previous works have seen praise from the likes of BBC, CNN, Huff Post, MOJO, Spin, Brooklyn Vegan, NPR’s ‘All Songs Considered’, Guitar World, Wonderland Magazine, All About Jazz, Paste and Rolling Stone Magazine. He’s also been a recent main cover artist in editions of both Blues Matters and Blues & Soul Magazine.
His new single ‘¡2 BEAUCOUP!’ was produced with James Dellatacoma (Bill Laswell, Herbie Hancock) and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper (Paul Weller, LL Cool J, Miles Davis). The track was recorded in Paris, after Doncker had not only supported The Fun Lovin’ Criminals at The New Morning, but also joined the legendary Patti Smith on stage at L’Olympia to perform ‘People Have The Power’ together a few days later. Inspired by this experience, by her ability to bring people together, ‘¡2 BEAUCOUP!’ was born. The track is driven by disco and funk infused drum beats, groove-laden guitars and bursts of horns, all brought together by infectious choruses and Doncker’s urgent vocals crooning an exuberant display of unity.

On the inspiration behind the single, Doncker says, “I had just performed with Patti Smith at The L’Olympia Theatre in Paris - where I witnessed first hand the magic of music to create community, and unify voices towards a common goal. ‘People Have The Power’ in full effect. She urged the audience to ‘Use Your Voice!’, to never stop speaking out against injustice around the world. Needless to say I was inspired - so I went looking for ‘2 verses and a vibe’... what came out was ¡2 BEAUCOUP!’.

In September and October of 2025, Doncker was invited to support Fun Lovin’ Criminals on their extensive tour throughout the UK and Europe alongside his band, The True Groove All-Stars, which include members of The Specials Horns. After playing to back to back sold out crowds, he’s been invited back to support the second leg of their European run throughout May.

On the tour, he says, “I’m so honoured and excited to have been invited to be a part of the upcoming Fun Lovin’ Criminals fall UK/EU tour. They’ve really made me feel welcome as a member of the international / UK music community, and I am forever grateful for this opportunity. It’s gonna be a lot of fun for sure!”
